The Maruti Celerio will be available at a price of Rs 4.99 lakh for a limited period.
Responding to a decline in demand for small cars in the Indian market, Maruti Suzuki has revealed plans to introduce a new Dream Edition variant for three of its models – the Alto K10, S-Presso, and Celerio – all priced at Rs 4.99 lakh. This move will lead to a price reduction of Rs 38,000 for the Celerio, which currently starts at Rs 5.37 lakh for the entry-level LXI variant.
The Maruti Dream Edition models are set to come with added features and will be available as limited-run special editions. For the Alto K10, the Dream Edition will fit between the mid-spec LXI (Rs 4.84 lakh) and VXI (Rs 5.06 lakh) variants. Similarly, the S-Presso Dream Edition will be positioned between the base Standard (Rs 4.27 lakh) and LXI (Rs 5.02 lakh) trims.
“We’ve observed a rise in demand for premium hatchbacks, and we’ve successfully revitalized that segment, contributing 43 percent in May. Now, in June, we’re shifting our focus to the small entry car segment. Based on customer feedback, we’re launching the Dream Edition, prioritizing customer utility and convenience. This offer is valid only for the month of June,” stated Partho Banerjee, Sales and Marketing Head at Maruti Suzuki India Limited
The limited-time Dream Edition models will come equipped with additional features, including reverse parking security systems and upgraded infotainment systems.
In May 2024, sales in the segments encompassing models like S-Presso, Baleno, Celerio, Ignis, and the newly launched Swift totaled 78,108 units, compared to 83,655 in May 2023.
